HEAR FROM OUR SITE DIRECTORS
During training, our residents have the opportunity to rotate across several different locations and departments. Each contributes a valuable part to the overall training experience by offering unique patient populations and pathologies.

CHILDREN'S NATIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
Dr. Bethany Karwoski serves as the site director for this comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus rotation. This video outlines the pediatric fellowship, but the rotating residents have similar exposure to a robust clinical and surgical volume with unique pathology and even opportunity for global outreach.

Residents spend 4 months during PGY-3 at this location.
INTERNAL MEDICINE DURING PGY-1
Meet Former Internal Medicine Program Director and Current DIO, Dr. Daniel Larbi, as he discusses aspects of our integrated internship.

Residents spend 5 blocks during PGY-1 rotating within the Department of Internal Medicine, including 2 blocks of inpatient wards, and 1 block each of MICU, Rheumatology and Infectious Disease.

The remaining time during internship is spent in Ophthalmology (3 blocks), Neurology/Neuroradiology, Otolaryngology, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, and Ambulatory Family Medicine.
